History
does repeat itself. In 1992, nationally renowned decorator, Mark Hampton,
served as our luncheon speaker. Twenty years later, we are pleased to feature
his daughter, Alexa Hampton, to speak at our 2012 brunch. Following in her
illustrious father’s design footsteps, Ms. Hampton has been named one of the
top 100 decorators in the country by House Beautiful, and one of the top 100 in
the world by Architectural Digest.
Ms.
Hampton will discuss her newest book, The Language of Interior Design. This
beautifully illustrated book showcases 18 of her favorite room projects.
Ms.
Hampton most recently appeared as guest speaker at the 2011 Philadelphia
Antiques Show. She served as senior designer on the long running PBS show, This
Old House, and co-hosted, along with Leigh and Leslie Keno, the series Find! In
2005, she was honored with the American Spirit Award for her commission as
interior designer of the Trowbridge House, the official residence of past
presidents of the United States in Washington, D.C.
Alexa
Hampton currently owns and operates the Mark Hampton, LLC design firm in New
York City.
